Coaching With John At Alvechurch Fishery

Another quality session at Alvechurch Fishery, this time pole fishing with John on Horseshoe Lake.

We started off on a short pole swim with a soft pellet approach, putting a nice run of carp together. Further out we found a plateau at 14 metres, and this area was targeted with banded pellets up and down in the water.

As the session progressed we also converted the short swim to a hard pellet line and this brought a decent run of fish later on. Combined with some hard-fighting carp and barbel down the margins in the last hour it concluded the session really nicely.

A big thanks to John for a cracking day on the bank and of course to everyone at Alvechurch Fishery for having us. The fish at this place are in great condition and don’t give themselves up too easily, which keeps us on our toes and makes it a nice challenge!
