Lots Of Species At Jubilee
Over the past few years I’ve been fortunate to spend some lovely days on the bank with my friend Bede. He really likes to catch silverfish on float tackle and we’ve already sampled a number of nice venues. This time around I suggested he joined me as a guest at Jubilee Pools, an idyllic venue controlled by Leamington Angling Association. We settled on a nice looking swim on Horseshoe, which certainly is a picturesque lake to spend the day.
We soon discovered that maggots would barely touch the surface before tiny fish intercepted them, so sweetcorn was without doubt the key to unlocking the better quality specimens, fished over a mixture of micro pellets and Sonubaits F1 Dark groundbait. We managed a multitude of species, from tiny rudd to chunky roach, greedy perch, fin-waving crucians and quality bream. The better fish didn’t give themselves up easily, so it proved a nice challenge with every fish well earned.
Thanks to Jubilee Pools for having us!
