Back In The Silverfish Final

I had a nice day at Barston for the Angling Trust Silverfish qualifier yesterday. I’m definitely still not 100% fit, but dosed up on Benylin and Strepsils and coughed my way to a qualifying place with 54lb 11oz!

I had less than a 1lb in the net after the first hour, but when the skimmers finally arrived it was steady away. Six carp slowed things down, but another one actually turned out to be a 3lb perch. Biggest perch I’ve ever seen at this place!

Maggot over Sonubaits F1, Supercrush Green and Thatchers worked best, although a bit of chopped worm helped later on, and I pretty much used one rig all day, which was a 0.5g Matrix F1 Slim in the 4.5ft of coloured water.

Great to be back in the Final again for the third successive year, especially after narrowly missing out at Bishops Bowl last week.
