Runner Up On the Fish South Silvers

Just the one match again at the weekend and a last-minute decision to do the Fish South qualifier at Ivy House. I drew peg 4 on Old Match Lake, next peg to where I was last time when I caught 13lb of roach, but it’s fished totally different today!

A hard frost in the morning then flat-calm and bright sunny conditions has switched the roach off. All I could catch were tiny bottle-top skimmers and I’ve had 10lb 13oz of them, mostly on pellets.

That was 2nd in the match behind Zac Brown who fished well to qualify off unfancied peg 2 with 13lb. I think just 7lb won the other lake. The fish were mostly sunbathing today!

Baitwise I’ve fed fishery micros and Sonubaits Supercrush Expander and caught best with a 0.4g F1 Slim in 4ft of water. Nice day in the sunshine.
