A Warwick Wold Workout
It’s always nice to visit a new venue and I was really impressed by Warwick Wold Waters. This is an immaculate looking southern commercial fishery, situated where the M25 and M23 intersect and not somewhere I’d ever travelled to before. I was there with Malcolm and Terry and it was surprisingly hot and sunny all day and the fish were a little bit preoccupied, especially at the start, but we eventually managed to catch some nice fish.
We fished Ozzies Lake and the carp were reluctant to leave the sanctuary of the island, so feeder tactics were the only way we could catch until later in the day. Malcolm later managed some better fish on paste and Terry managed to catch short on hard pellets. I think the carp were simply too hot and bothered to come down the margins on the day, but it was still good to go through the motions as every day is different and we can never second-guess where the fish are happiest to feed.
A lovely day with two nice guys at a really impressive and friendly fishery. Check out Warwick Wold if you’re London way as I know you’ll be pleasantly surprised!
