Fun At Frogmore

I love a new venue and was blown away by my latest trip to spend the day on the bank with Mike at Frogmore. This is a stunning club water, near St Albans, controlled by Verulam AC. What a cracking venue and the chunky F1s, carp, roach, rudd, perch and skimmers we caught in Ash Lake were all in great condition.

We kicked off on the short pole with hard pellets, catching carp and F1s before progressing further out towards the middle. It wasnt long before I realised we could catch the big F1s shallow and Mike was soon getting his elastic stretched with F1s averaging 2lb. A fixed-depth rig to begin with then progressing to a jigga setup.

We ended the day with some flying skimmers and a couple of big F1s down the margins, but it was nowhere near as productive as the open water on the day. Still a nice end to a brilliant day on the bank. Great weather and great fishing. We even had a nice big cake to share for our lunch! What more could you ask for?
