Zero To Hero

A zero to hero weekend! I had the grand total of two pulls at Barston on the Feeder Masters on Saturday. The wind looked decent for my peg 50, but with every peg in a row around me I felt it’d be a struggle and just 34lb won my 10-peg section… Well done Oliver Scotthorne winning from peg 103 and Sam Collett and Leigh Bembrick for also qualifying. 

I bounced back today on Round 2 of the Matrix Commercial Champs at Makins Fishery with a match-winning 239lb. I drew peg 18 on Severn and having not fished this lake since it’s been redone I now appreciate why it’s such a flyer! 

Had a great start mugging carp up to 8lb before they backed off. Briefly swapped to the feeder with maggots and Sonubaits Match Method Mix and had a few on that before the cruisers thankfully returned. Had a few more shallow, then the last hour has been brilliant down the edge on meat. Well done Danny Grimsey and Ben Townsend completing the top three. 

Today was the first match I’ve used the new Matrix Digital Clicker Pro and I actually clicked somewhere close to my total for a change, so I’m really impressed with it!

Lovely day’s fishing and definitely earned a chunk or two of my Father’s Day Toblerone…
