Glorious Glebe
A few pics from a great time on the bank with Richard at the glorious Glebe Fishery in Leicestershire. He wanted to primarily do some margin and mugging and this place is top of my list of potential venues for that. We sat in the 20s on Lake 1, which was wall to wall carp on the top as we set up. By the time we started, however, the wind had really whipped up and the cruising fish pretty much vanished much of the day with only a very occasional one popping by. Typical!
It didn’t matter, though, as we still had a great session catching some quality skimmers (the flying variety) before the lake’s famous carp got more and more in on the action. The edge fishing was particularly good, but they took a bit of working out on the day.
I was fortunate to have a bit of a fish myself on the next peg and caught really well on paste down the sides and short, plus one or two muggers when I finally spotted some.
Richard’s penultimate fish was a carp down the side on just a top kit. However, it was foul-hooked and I insisted he couldn’t end on that, so he promptly dropped back in and caught a nice tench to round off a lovely time on the bank!
A big thanks to Nick at the Glebe for having us both.
