Good Time On The Gloucester Canal

It has been a few years since I last fished the Gloucester Canal, so I was looking forward to today’s Feedermasters qualifier. I had a lovely match, winkling out small skimmers and one little eel for a hard-earned 12lb 3oz catch from peg 251. Just needed some bigger skimmers or a bonus bream or two, as 15lb won the section and 18lb won the zone, both having those all-important bonuses in their catches.

Refreshingly simple tactics, just setting up two identical 11ft Ethos XR-S Light Feeder rods and catching on dead maggots and pinkies early, then worm later. Groundbait was Sonubaits Sweet Skimmer, Lake and brown crumb. Smelled good enough to eat!

I am definitely on a bit of a feeder theme lately as I’ve just uploaded a live match from Boddington Resy in my Channel Members area, plus a River Avon film’s gone up on my main channel as well!

Day off Sunday. Have a good one!
