Good Peg. Good Result!

A hot and humid Round Three of the Matrix Commercial Champs at Moorlands yesterday. Didn’t get much sleep or prep done after ‘camping’ overnight in our garden with a crazy little daughter for her birthday weekend…

Pulled out peg 2 on Bank, so a great peg on my favourite lake on the complex. Mugged two early, but they were nigh-on impossible after that. Had a crayfish short, then spent most of the day down the margins, catching very edgy carp, plus a few bream and F1s, mostly with meat on the hook. I’ve definitely not fished the tidiest of matches as the fish wouldn’t settle no matter how I fed, but thankfully still won the section and was 3rd overall with 163lb.

Well done Ben Townsend who was 2nd with 164lb and Jimmy Brooks who won the day with 168lb. A tight frame!

I’d love to say what rig or feeding pattern was best, but after five hours I’m still not sure! However, I’ve used yellow 14-16 and green 16-18 Slik all day and they’ve been ideal.

Round Four is at Meadowlands, which could be really tricky if the weather stays like this!
