Another one of my coaching sessions last week, this time with Dave Roberts on Little Gearys Lake at the fabulous Packington Fisheries.<\/p>\n
Dave is no slouch at match fishing, as he had actually won an open at the same venue less than a week ago. However, that was with feeder and bomb tactics and as a keen specimen carper he probably knows more than your average match angler about legering for the species!<\/p>\n
Our session was all about fishing the long pole. After a cold start the sport was slow to begin with, which gave us plenty of time to look at feeding techniques, rigs and presentation. As midday arrived the fish decided to feed. It soon became a bite a chuck and a switch from bottom fishing to shallow fishing was in order!<\/p>\n
The day flew by with Dave amassing a brimming net of quality carp and F1s for the cameras. A great birthday present, I hope!<\/p>\n
