A Hectic Few Days

First chance to report back from Wednesdays’ AT Silverfish qualifier at Meadowlands. Had 37lb for nowhere! The place fished its brains out for skimmers although the carp were rather active too. Very well done Callum Dicks who I had the pleasure of watching out the corner of my eye, catching mostly small skimmers like a machine for 59lb and a place in the Final. Also Matty Pillay for taking Warren apart with 60lb+ and Cam Hughes for taking the match apart with 80lb+ from Lambsdown deeps. Probably the best average weights I’ve ever seen at Meadowlands and amazed how many skimmers were everywhere. What a venue! My best bite was somehow hooking a Guru bait tub lid on the deck at 13m!?

Yesterday I was back on the river coaching and managed to catch a few decent roach myself. Fish a chuck from start to finish on bolo, wag, maggots, hemp, wheat and tares! Flipping cold sat in the shade though!

Today I had all my plans cancelled with a family emergency. All sorted now, thankfully. Had just enough time to upload a new film, though; an amazing whip fishing session that’s already getting some nice comments. Please check that one out!

No fishing Saturday, silvers league starts on Sunday, then I’ve got to try and remember how to catch F1s next week on the three-dayer at Tunnel Barn. Just need to swap all my gear over, check all my elastics, rigs and make sure I have some F1 hooks tied… Probably just making up the numbers, but will still try my best.

Hope you all have a great weekend if you’re out!
