A Fabulous Silverfish Match
I had a fantastic day on the Leamington AA match held at Snitterfield Resy on Saturday. I really love this venue as it’s full of quality silvers and you never know what the next fish will be.
I drew peg 19 and had a memorable day, winning with 55lb, including a dozen tench, lots of small chub, some chunky roach, quality skimmers and a bonus 6lb bream (a known resident they affectionately call Stumpy as it has no tail!). My only surprise was not hooking a single crucian carp as there’s loads in there!
I caught best on the short pole with casters and maggots over a little bit of chopped worm and Sonubaits F1 and Supercrush Green groundbait. Also used the new X2 hooks in a size 16 which were spot on!
I don’t get to fish many LAA matches but it was a lovely day at a special venue with a really warm and welcoming group of anglers.
