A Cracker At Dog Lane

I haven’t been to Dog Lane Fishery for some time and was really impressed by how well it fished, even in this tricky heatwave we’re currently having. Lots of pleasure anglers on the lake all catching well, plus my angler Shaun who had travelled all the way from Norfolk to sample the quality sport on offer!

Pole fishing was the order of the day, going through the finer points of rig choice, seatbox and roller setups. Starting short om hard pellets we were son into fish, with some clonking roach also snaffling a banded 6mm along with the carp. We moved out shallow fishing and although it was blustery the fish were active and really responded well to the feed and a bit of rig slapping!

Time really whizzed by, but there was just enough time to squeeze a few fish out from the margins. They seemed to come steamrollering in each time which was fun to watch and there were plenty of ideas to try down there.

All in all a great day at a stunning venue where you are always guaranteed to get a few bites in great surroundings.
