It’s raining outside

It’s cold
I’m old
And it’s raining outside
Short bursts
Full day prior
Today I suffer
I know something’s not right
The jabs are relentless
And these bruises won’t heal
But I just sit
And contemplate
Distraction’s not the cure
But when I drift
Procrastinate
It numbs the pain
Of a flickering mind
Like a candle barely lit
Forgetting the shadows
As I pencil gibberish
Staving off the pain
For it’s cold
I’m old
And it’s raining outside
