Superpowers
Always had superpowers
Can penetrate masks and veils
Clear signs of intimidation
Stripped bare when truth prevails
Can perceive what’s really real
Scrutinise with a discerning eye
Yet cruelty never extinguished
No end to them being so sly
Behind fake back-slaps and grins
Scurrying around like rats in plain sight
Green faces swollen with envy
Morality held back from flight
Innate power to spot the fakers
Bold facades disintegrate
Mirrors smashed, smoke blown away
Shrouded chancers illuminate
For never relied on a clique to thrive
A hive mind to fuel each boast
With an aptitude to think for oneself
Power of knowing scares them the most
