Nice Win At Ivy
Only one match last weekend, which was the third round of the Ivy House silverfish league. I’ve drawn a nice peg 5 on Old Match Lake. Hoped to catch skimmers, but ended up having a busy day catching mostly roach, a handful of small skimmers, one gudgeon and three F1s. Probably about 20 non-counters too, including lots of baby carp!
My 19lb 12oz was top weight on the day with a couple of 18lbs coming off Kingfisher. A few degrees warmer and weights were much better on average, although the carp were also very active, as you’d expect.
Caught best short on maggots and pinkies and used Sonubaits Supercrush Green and Expander in the 4ft deep peg. Half-decent weather and nice to see a bit of blossom on the way there, too. Spring’s around the corner!
