A Couple Of 20lb+ Catches
Saturday I paid my first ever visit to Southend Farm for a silverfish match. Heard great things about this place, but a sharp frost in the morning was always going to affect the fishing quite a bit. I drew a decent peg 8, attacked it a bit too much in hindsight, but clawed it back in the last hour to end up with 21lb with 24lb winning the section. Well done Alex Clements winning the match with 34lb from peg 1. Impressed with the venue. Lots of food for thought for my next visit…
Sunday was Round 4 of the Ivy House silvers league. Think every round it’s rained and today was no different, this time combined with a cold and very stormy wind! After one of my wobbly starts to the day I eventually arrived at the venue and got the penultimate peg in the bag, which was end peg 48 on Kingfisher. I was told it would be full of carp, and it certainly was at the end, but I’ve still had a nice match, catching lots of skimmers and roach, plus one F1 for a match-winning 24lb 14oz.
I caught best fishing close in with pinkies and casters over Saturday’s leftover groundbait, which was Sonubaits F1, Thatchers and Supercrush Green.
