When The Gods Take Pity!
The gods took pity on me after Saturday’s ordeal, as I had a pleasantly calm peg yesterday on Round 9 of the Packington Winter League. 50 anglers turned up and I was happy drawing peg 2 on Siblings A as some fish came off it the day before and it’s got a nice reed bed to fish to.
I had a decent day despite all the rain to weigh 67lb, which was 2nd in section and 4th in the match. A couple of early fish on bread then everything else around 13m on maggots and a bit of black Dynamite Milled Expander, in front and down the side, but strangely nothing short. A real mixture of carp, stockies and F1s of all sizes.
Caught best with 4×10 and 4×12 Malman Secrets, size 18 hook, 0.10mm Power Micron bottom and 6-8 and 8-10 Slik through Short Kits.
Well done Phil Canning storming the section with 91lb off peg 17 and Lee Richards winning the match with 99lb from Little Gearys 11.
One more round to go in a fortnight’s time…
