Is My Goliath Gudgeon A Record?

I thought this was a baby barbel when I netted it… but it’s a HUGE gudgeon!!!

I caught it at a local farm pond yesterday on sweetcorn. The owner reckons there’s even bigger in there after he very kindly popped it on his kitchen scales. The pic doesn’t do it justice, but it weighed 5oz 14drm! Goliath the Gudgeon!
