Lurgi Lure Fishin’

I might be suffering from the dreaded winter lurgi, but it was still nice to get out for just a couple of precious hours with my good friend Dave ‘Stretch’ Armstrong yesterday.

It’s great to get away from the restraints of match fishing to casually fling a bit of rubber about on the canal. Dave had a nice perch and I managed a decent zander. We tried numerous lures but Spikey Shads did all the damage today.

I think we did really well to catch anything at all considering the cold and coloured water… and all the boats… and our inept casting… and my reel that seized up!
