Silver Surfing At Docklow Pools
Here are some photos from a great session with Ray targeting silverfish at Docklow Pools for his 60th birthday present.
We sat on the beautiful Moby Dick lake and fished a mixture of casters, maggots and pellets on the short pole and down the side. There was certainly no shortage of bites and Ray was in his element sliding the net under skimmers, roach, perch and hybrids.
He was a little less keen to lower his delicate pole rigs next to some of the huge tails that kept waving at him down the margins, but I finally convinced him to try and catch one of them for the cameras! A lovely ghost carp was his reward… but he was soon back on the silvers after that, much to my amusement!
It was a cracking day and really nice to be back at Docklow, which has to be one of the nicest venues in the country and well worth a visit if you’ve not been before.
