Flicking The Switch At Tunnel Barn

Adam and I tackled one of my favourite lakes at Tunnel Barn Farm last week in the shape of House Pool at this brilliant venue. I felt peg 21 offered us some much needed shelter from the wind and, more importantly, it’s a nice area to target the lake’s famous head of F1s.

Kicking off down the middle with pellets, one of Adam’s first fish was an absolutely massive F1, followed by a nice common carp. Not a bad start by all accounts!

We fished a few areas of the peg and each spot produced bites, but it wasn’t until I set up a shallow rig with maggots that things got really interesting. That’s where the fish were definitely happiest on the day. It was like flicking a switch as Adam was now in full-on bagging mode – and loving every minute of it!

Adam fished extremely well and amassed a quality 100lb+ catch for his efforts. Once again a big thanks to Tunnel Barn Farm for having us!
