Nice Time On The Thame

Yesterday was a scorcher, so Richard and I very sensibly had an early start on the River Thame in Oxfordshire to try and beat the heat! The result was a lovely mixed bag on the pole.

Loose fed hemp, casters and maggots long under the shadow of a bush worked well for mostly dace and chublets. A shorter swim fed with Sonubaits Black Roach and soil took a little longer to kick into action, but once the roach arrived it was really good. Nice and busy fishing, swapping between a couple of contrasting rigs and feeding regularly. Of course, I couldn’t resist catching a few fish myself, but boy was it hot packing away!

A big thanks to Richard and Cuddesdon Mill Village Anglers Association, who control four and a half miles of this cracking little river.
