Carping Capers With Craig

The rain definitely never dampened our enthusiasm or the fish’s appetites when Craig and I tackled Makins Fishery last week!

We had a brilliant session on Lake 4 on Phase 1, catching some really nice big carp. Most of them were quality ghosties to over 10lb and they all put up a good scrap in the relatively deep water we were faced with.

Craig is an accomplished river angler who was keen to get to grips with the finer points of commercial fisheries, particularly when it came to feeding on the pole. Pellets, corn and dead maggots all came into play and Craig did really well to get some of his fish in the net, as they were clearly on steroids!

A great day’s fishing and a great laugh too. A big thanks to Makins Fishery for having us!
